Contract 2nd Line IT Support - Office based Southampton

Spectrum IT's Southampton Client are seeking an experienced Contact IT Support Engineer/ 2nd Line Technician for an 8 week initial contract. This is an office based role to support a busy Southampton business. The role has been deemed inside IR35 and so the successful candidate for this role will be required to work via an FCSA Umbrella Company.

Candidates for this role will have strong technical IT support skills and be experience working in a Microsoft environment as well as enjoy a hands-on role as part of a small team. You will be able to manage your own work and prioritise tickets/ business support needs working independently under your own initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Be the IT expert for the business, with familiarity on all systems including some bespoke application
  • Ensure day to day IT support is covered across all sites via phone, Teams, email and in person
  • Make suggestions on ways to improve our IT systems, processes and security
  • Responsible for IT security and mitigating IT related risks
  • Make suggestions on ways to improve our IT systems, processes and security
  • Liaise with external software providers and be the internal key point of contact for any issues or updates
  • Manage own IT support projects

Experience

  • Previous Contract IT Support (1st/2nd Line) experience
  • Experience handling support queries onsite, remotely and via telephone
  • Experience with dealing with 2nd line queries (Beneficial)
  • Office 365
  • Active Directory
  • SQL
  • Azure
  • Other Microsoft Technologies
  • Knowledge and comfort with cloud based technologies
