Job Description

Spectrum IT are looking for a Contract IT Project Manager to join our clients team on a 3 month initial contract. The project manager will be responsible for leading the delivery of key workstreams that directly support the strategic growth ambitions of the company. The Project Manager will work specifically with Agile delivery teams and have end to end responsibility for ensuring that the projects and initiatives under their control deliver the agreed benefits to time, cost and quality.

Key responsibilities and main duties

  • To ensure that all projects are delivered on-time and within specification and budget
  • Develop and maintain appropriate project plans and track against key milestones
  • Actively manage change, risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies (CRAID)
  • Actively liaise with other project managers and IT colleagues to manage any project inter-dependencies
  • Keep robust financial control of project spend and take appropriate action when exceeding budget
  • Ensure that any IT project or associated change is transitioned carefully into live production support
  • Actively manage any third party resources or suppliers, any internal IT resources, and guide and support any business resources required to deliver the project(s)
  • Ensure that change is appropriately embedded in the business with end users
  • Inform project board and key stakeholders of the project progress in accordance with company's governance and reporting cycles, including weekly project updates, steering committee packs and the escalation of any key risks or issues in a timely manner
  • Produce any required deliverables associated with project delivery
  • As is and to be process mapping
  • Contribute to, and develop roadmaps within the Product and Engineering environment

Skills, experience and characteristics

  • Track record of successful project implementations through the full project lifecycle
  • Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies, with an emphasis on Agile delivery
  • Proven experience balancing multiple priorities in an evolving environment
  • In depth understanding of project management documentation.
  • Able to work at all levels within the organisation; good interpersonal skills and stakeholder management.
  • Educated to degree level desirable
  • Prince 2 or similar qualification desirable, minimum of 3 years project management experience
  • Team player, who can work alongside the current project managers and business SMEs
  • An energetic, confident and articulate self-starter
  • Strong problem solving and facilitation skills, comfortable presenting
  • Well organised and demonstrate good time management, able to prioritise tasks and to meet deadlines.
  • A team player, strong communicator and relationship builder with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Able to work under pressure to tight deadlines ensuring quality is not impacted
