Head of Design (UX/UI)

Fully Remote / Field Based

£80,000 - £87,000 - 10% Bonus and Car Allowance

Head of Design (UX/UI) required to join my client, a niche software house near Eastleigh. This will be a Field based / remote position based across England. We are looking for someone who is strategically and commercially minded in all things design. It will be a mixture of hands on design and team leadership. You will be responsible for motivating and coaching the team into developing their practices You will have experience of human interface design, digital product design experience and have worked in a B2B environment.

Skills and Experience:

  • Human Interface Design
  • Digital Product Design
  • Experience of working in a B2B environment
  • Implementation skills using a variety of the following: CSS, HTML, XHTML, Bootstrap, Angular, Jquery, JavaScript
  • Experience of Web Analytics, Conversion rate Optimisation and Variant Testing
  • Experience of New Software Product Design

Responsibilities

  • Gather and evaluate customer (internal and external) requirements in collaboration with product management and software development teams
  • Design, implement and maintain reusable layouts, components and themes
  • Develop UI mock-ups and prototypes
  • Work closely with Web Analyst to improve usability and conversion rates across new and existing customer websites
  • Expand knowledge across the strategic delivery team of UI/UX/Design best practices
  • Line management for analyst and design resource including development by identifying training areas and personal development plans.
  • Identify and troubleshoot UX problems, e.g. responsiveness
  • Provide point of access for customer enquiries during the design, development and testing process
  • Provide accurate estimates for internal and external design requirements
  • Build and test new designs to specified requirements within agreed timescales
  • Other tasks as directed by Management
