Job description
Mechanical Design Engineer required by an innovative start up technology company located in Southampton. They are on a upward trajectory of growth and are looking to expand their existing mechanical design team.
The successful Mechanical Design Engineer should have a relevant degree in Mechanical Engineering and proven experience of full life cycle mechanical design of components and systems from concept through prototyping to end product.
Experience in a high-tech, product development based environment would be highly advantageous - eg medical devices, sensors, design consultancy etc. The Mechanical Design Engineer will work in a collaborative environment alongside other engineers in software, electronics and other areas.
Key experience
- Strong CAD skills, specifically SolidWorks
- Prototyping of concepts
- Requirements gathering and specs for new product design
- Comfortable working in ISO 9000 (or similar) environment
- Enthusiasm for the invention and design of products
Experience in any of the following areas would be advantageous, but is not a prerequisite;
- Design of medical device related products
- Experience in a tech start up environment
