Principal Developer / Technical Lead

We are working with digital pioneers from the consumer retail sector to find a Technical Lead / Principal Developer. Reporting to the company CTO, you will be one of two Tech Lead's tasked with shaping the future roadmap of technology; helping to architect and develop the company's large ecommerce website & mobile apps & 3rd party integration's; and coaching, mentoring and upskilling the team.
Operating as number 2 to the Head of Engineering, your role is technical and leadership focussed. Taking the team on a journey to deliver awesome solutions and leading from a technical & delivery perspective.
It's an exciting time to join the company as they evolve their technology stack, rebuilding products and services in modern micro-services architecture. The tech stack will be React.js, Typescript, Native Mobile (iOS, Android, Kotlin) and micro-services architecture. You don't need to be an expert in all of the above, but a willingness and ability to learn and adapt to evolving technology is essential.
Technical Skills
- You will need strong commercial experience with JavaScript & TypeScript. Able to hit the ground running on day 1, adding value from a technical perspective.
- Thereafter you will draw on your development experience and aptitude to work on varied projects that might include; Mobile Apps development, development of Web APIs, architecting solutions and learning new development tech to help deliver new solutions.
- You will have worked with AWS and cloud services and have an appreciation of Lambda.
The role offers a great degree of working flexibility but the contract is an office based contract. The likelihood is you will visit the office 2 to 3 times a month, primarily to meet the team, build relationships and remove blockers in production and work-flows.
