Product Analyst

A leading organisation operating within the logistics sector is looking for a Product Analyst to join their team in Southampton.

The Product Analyst will join an existing IT Team and will support the build of products for functional areas of the business.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Product Analyst to broaden their skills and experience.

The Product Analyst will:

  • Work with key stakeholders towards accepting viable and valid system solutions, which involve changes to ways of working and processes, showing understanding, imagination, and creativity
  • Ensure key stakeholders' requirements are being met by Information technology in product area by directly or indirectly -

- Documenting business requirements

- Documenting business processes

- Help define strategy for effective use of technology

  • Ensure the support model for product are fit for purpose and accepted by service delivery, provide 2nd level support where required
  • Support change resulting from the implementation of new solutions and processes are managed effectively, using best practice change techniques - Stakeholder management, user training, communication techniques and documentation etc
  • Ensure upgrades to products in the job holders' responsibility are managed effectively both in defining when upgrades/fixes are required, and the subsequent execution conforms to IT policies and procedures
  • Contribute to business improvement projects directly to the function or as a service to the Projects team (Business applications, desktop solutions, office automation projects).
  • Ensure delivered software solutions are fit for purpose by effective use of testing techniques and receive the appropriate signoff and are implemented following any internal policies and procedures
  • Complete minor changes or configuration of product / integration in the job holder's area
  • Work with vendors, or internal teams, or complete within function to implement a new product or upgrade/enhance new existing Product/s

The Product Analyst will have the below experience:

  • Experience in bespoke integrations/web service functions
  • SQL & FTP Scripting experience
  • Good Technical understanding of how business applications are developed/configured with proven implementation experience
  • Project experience in a structured environment - Prince 2 Basic or equivalent
  • Some business application implementation experience preferably within the functional area
  • Good communication and listening skills, demonstrates the ability to communicate at all levels and the ability to vary communication
  • Experience with Crystal Reports and Reporting Tools
  • Analysis of Business functions
  • Influence and persuasion
  • Experience with Mapping Tools - Mapforce
  • Business Characteristics - Good understanding of the functional structure of businesses and other organisations; the key drivers for a business to succeed
  • Able to secure a credible relationship with stakeholders in function

This Product Analyst role is paying up to £40,000 plus benefits.
