Senior Front End Web Developer

£55,000 - £65,000
We are a pioneering UK company that is changing the mobile communications world by using the best IT principles to create cutting-edge private 4G and 5G network solutions that are easy to deploy, manage and scale.
As a member of the Engineering Team, you will be working on software development activities that extend and support our Mobile Telephone Network Core Products. Tasks include developing a front end to ease deployment and provide user friendly methods to monitor and configure the products. As part of a small team, you will have the opportunity to work on the many facets of the product, developing your expertise in one or more aspects.
You will have experience in React and / or Angular or similar. You may never have developed and deployed a green field site before, but you must be able to persuade the interviewers that you know the principals and are keen to have a go yourself. Perhaps you will talk about some frustrations about your ideas not being given a chance. Later in the year we may be able to recruit someone to assist you, but to begin with you will be the only person with these skills and so need to be able to communicate your ideas to technically minded people who may not have the exact skills and terminology you are used to using.
Job Skills Key
o Developed user interfaces for complex systems
o Experience of development using Angular or similar
o Good knowledge of JavaScript , TypeScript or similar
o Experience in HTML, CSS, JSON, REST, PHP, SOAP
o Good knowledge of UX/UI principles
o Experience in HTTPS/OpenSSL/ Certificates
o Working knowledge of Lighttpd, apache web servers
o Use of tools and implementation of dashboards to monitor health of systems, for instance Grafana and Influx
o Use of source code repository
Job Skills Preferred (some but not all of the following)
o OO design methodology
o Cross platform, container and cloud development experiences
o Use of Software Configuration and task tracking tools
o Experience of automated test development
Responsibilities
o Development of web-based user interfaces for configuring and deploying complex systems
o Development of web-based user interfaces to monitor the health of those systems
o Develop automated test cases
o Perform integration tests and trials to demonstrate system design goals are met
o Troubleshoot and reproduce issues reported by customers resolving issues in software if able.
o Use, and occasionally commission, administer or maintain, company software tools such as software configuration, bug tracking and build management
Experience
o 5+ years production software development experience
o Degree (2:1 or better) or equivalent in a technical subject
o Willingness to take on new challenges
o Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
o Self- motivated and able to learn and disseminate information effectively
o Ability to work in team as well as individually
o Clear, logical thinking and the creative ability to solve problems
o Able to plan and organise own work
o Accurate and careful with details
o Ability to work to tight deadlines
o Clear communicator in a variety of mediums
Engineering roles at the moment are working remotely, my client would expect to see everyone in the office 2/3 days a week, at least, when we get out this Covid-19 situation. So in an ideal world you need to be commutable from Camberley.
