Software Engineer - Android, Java/Kotlin, MVVM / MVI

A great opportunity for a talented Software Engineer to work with an award-winning marine technology specialist building next generation geospatial & navigation systems.

The role of Software Engineer best suits a postgraduate from a Computer Science, Electronics (or similar) discipline with 3+ years commercial experience. You will need to have a good grasp of clean architecture and design using MVI, MVVM or MVP alongside strong commercial experience with Android + Java or Kotlin.

In this role you will be using Kotlin as the primary development language alongside Android for a range of embedded solutions used in marine electronics and navigation.

This is interesting, diverse and challenging work with a talented R&D team where you will use all of your experience and aptitude to create innovative solutions. We are looking for talented Software Engineers with solid grounding in software engineering practices, design patterns, object-oriented programming and modern technology.

The role involves all phases of the software development lifecycle, from initial concepts and group consultation through to design, coding, testing, debugging and software release. You will participate in product design discussions including feature analysis, system trade-offs and UI design.

Summary of Skills & Experience:

  • Android development
  • Java and/or Kotlin programming experience
  • Knowledge of Agile
  • Exposure to AWS Devops with CI/CD - beneficial
  • A degree in Computer Science, Electronics or similar scientific / engineering field.

Salary & Benefits:

The company offers a competitive salary; £40,000 - £60,000 with a range of financial and lifestyle benefits.

The role offers full remote working with offices located in Hampshire should you prefer.
