1ST / 2ND Line Support Technician - Customer facing

£22k - £28k

Southampton; near Chilworth, Totton

1st / 2nd Line Support Technician required to join a successful team in providing both hardware and software support to both internal and customers. The role is in my clients Southampton based office; however, does require the successful IT Support Technician travel to other sites where required.

The role will involve supporting regional offices & individual client sites; however, will be predominately based within the Southampton office. Due to the customer facing nature of this role, the ideal candidate will have previously worked in a dynamic team and be capable of prioritising tasks, time management, and essentially providing a responsive and customer-focused service.

The role will involve 1st and 2nd Line Support, building and fixing hardware, from Desktop systems to Microsoft Servers, through to onsite installation.

Requirements:

  • Supporting laptops, desktops & mobile devices
  • Windows Server operating systems - 2008 / 2012 / 2016
  • Active Directory
  • Exchange
  • Networking

The successful 1st / 2nd Line Support Technician will ideally come from an ITIL Service Desk environment and possess a relevant qualification such as:

  • ITIL
  • ITILV3
  • MCITP
  • MCDST

The ideal IT Support Technician will be proactive, a strong communicator and will ideally have 2-3+ years' experience within a similar role. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing and progressive company in a role which can offer real variety and autonomy.

Please note, shifts are done on a rota basis; ranging from 8am - 5.30pm.
