2nd Line Support Engineer required to join a leading national company, based from their offices on the outskirts of Southampton.
The role of 2nd line support engineer will involve giving internal IT support to over 500 desktop users either over the telephone, remotely or face to face. The role will involve configuration, troubleshooting and diagnostics of their IT systems and telephone systems.
The correct 2nd line support engineer will have a proven background in an IT Support role with at least 2 years commercial experience and preferably hold a certification with IT (e.g. university degree, Microsoft certification, CompTIA, ITIL). Strong knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems with emphasis on Windows 7 / 10 and MS Server 2012/ 2016. Experience of Active Directory (AD), network (LAN, WAN and Wi-Fi) and TCP/IP networking skills are also required. You should have experience of MS Office remote access tools such as VNC, log me in or PC Anywhere and an understanding of PC/Printer hardware and software set-up, configuration and troubleshooting. As you will be working in a team environment and dealing with end users on a daily basis your communication skills must be very strong, both written and verbal.
