Role: Contract Data Analyst
Length: 2-3 Months initially
Rate: Negotiable
Location: Southampton
Our client requires a Contract Data Analyst to help support the organisation on a migration project to allow them to start using newer & more automated reporting functionality
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the migration of reports, KPI dashboards and MI reporting packs into Power BI, transitioning from Excel, SSRS and other platforms such as Crystal Reports
- Translate new business needs into technical specifications and develop new reporting solutions
- Collaborate with data analysts to produce BI Functional Specifications
- Create documentation for BI Procedures, Data Dictionaries, and another related knowledgebase material
- Conduct data transformations and SQL query troubleshooting
- Identify data gaps, anomalies and errors
- Perform ad-hoc requests for project stakeholders
Experience
- Background in data warehousing (e.g. dimensional modelling) and data mining
- In-depth understanding of online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) processes
- Desirable full stack Microsoft BI experience i.e. SSRS, SSIS, SSAS
- Desirable expertise in Microsoft Power BI and DAX query language
- Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks
- Advanced T-SQL skills for data analysis and manipulation, sub-queries, joins, common table expressions etc.
