Spectrum IT's Southampton client are seeking an experienced Contract Database Developer/Engineer to join their established team on an initial 3 month contract.
As the Contact Database Developer/Engineer you will be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of current systems. You will also:
- Understand client requirements and how they translate in application features
- Design, build, and maintain high quality, efficient, reusable, and reliable code
- Design creative prototypes according to specifications
- Perform unit and integration testing before launch
- Troubleshoot and debug applications
- Evaluate existing applications to reprogram, update and add new features
- Develop technical documents and handbooks to accurately represent application design and code
- Provide L2/L3 support for applications within scope to ensure smooth operation and mitigate impacts to the rest of the business and our customers
Candidates for this role will have the followings key skills:
- SQL and T-SQL
- SSIS
- Data modelling using ERD/UML
- Data Analysis and Reporting
Additionally the following skills would be highly beneficial:
- Azure data platform including: Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Warehouse, Azure Analysis Services, Azure Data Lake and Azure Data Factory
- Powershell
- PowerBI
- Continuous Integration and Deployment
- Design and Architecture Patterns
- Experience of Test Driven Development and Test Automation
