DevOps Engineer - AWS, Automation, Docker
Southampton, Hampshire
A great opportunity for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join an award-winning technology company building innovative software and hardware products. This role will join a talented development team to ensure that their Software, Cloud and Hardware products are fit for purpose and adding real value to their global, high-value customers.
As the sole DevOps Engineer in the team, the successful candidate will be responsible for building, monitoring and maintaining Cloud/Software solutions, contributing to the overall development strategy decisions and leading the AWS optimisation, to continuously improve the quality of the service being delivered across the IT teams.
The ideal candidate will offer a high level of DevOps experience and be able to lead internally, however mid-level candidates will be considered offering great scope for progression.
Essential skills
- Linux or Windows system administration
- Thorough knowledge of AWS
- Containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS)
- RMDBS and NoSQL (PostgreSQL, Aurora, Cassandra, Redis)
- Performance testing, tuning and monitoring
- Automation of manual processes (Powershell, Python, Bash, ksh)
- Application Servers, Web Servers
- Good Agile understanding
- Excellent communicator
