Head of Software Development (Hands on)
£75,000 - £80,000 per annum + benefits
Fully remote working available - UK Wide
An experienced Head of Software Development is required to join a busy and growing development team located in Fleet, Hampshire who do offer fully remote working options. You will be responsible for taking ownership of the organisation's software delivery process as well as the day-to-day operation of the development and software testing teams. As the Head of Software Development, you will play an integral part in the full lifecycle of software delivery from initial resource scheduling work through to go-live releases, so it is essential that you have excellent organisation resource management and key decision-making skills.
You will be working in a organisation that delivers a market leading SaaS product that utilises cutting edge cloud AWS hosting technologies. The Head of Software Development requires someone who is still close to technology as you will play a pivotal role in solution architecture design of their LAMP stack environment. The successful Head of Development will be the subject matter expect across the full development lifecycle so must be proficient in designing PHP solutions therefore it is essential you are still technically hands-on and have experience in the following areas.
Key Experience
- Software Delivery - full software development lifecycle ownership
- Team management - proven experience coaching, mentoring and leading software development teams.
- Technical hands-on and solution design experience in the following technologies.
- OOP
- PHP
- MVC frameworks
- AWS
- MySQL
- Rest API's
- JavaScript
- Leading architecture and complex solution design sessions and being the key decision maker.
- Hands on experience working with complex software applications.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum processes
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and communication skills.
