IT Infrastructure Support Engineer
(ITIL, Project support, Infrastructure support, 3rd line support, O365, Virtualisation, Veeam)
£35,000 - £45,000 DOE
Southampton; near Chilworth, Totton
IT Infrastructure Support Engineer is required to join a successful team, based out of their Southampton office working across supporting their Corporate IT Infrastructure.
The role of IT Infrastructure Support Engineer will involve working as part of a team focusing on managing and implementing complex solutions throughout the organisation. This involves delivering solutions and resolving internal and external IT issues via phone, email and in person.
As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will be working within a Microsoft Infrastructure environment and will therefore be technically fluent in supporting Windows Infrastructure, server platforms, and applications whilst delivering technical solutions to businesses in line with industry best practice.
Ideally, the successful IT Infrastructure Engineer will have experience in mentoring junior team members or providing some level of leadership across a team; however, those without commercial leadership experience but with strong technical abilities will still be considered.
Key Requirements:
- Project focused Infrastructure support (Windows 10 upgrades, O365 rollouts & datacentre / systems maintenance).
- Experience working across an ITIL Service desk environment
- Windows Server 2012 / 2016
- Active Directory
- Exchange / O365
- Networking (TCP / IP, VLAN, LAN, WAN, SAN)
- Firewall configuration / management
- Virtualisation (Hyper-V / VMware)
- Exposure to backup technologies (Veeam)
As you will be working within a team environment across numerous sites, your communication skills, both written and verbal, must be exemplary.
Applicants must possess a driving license & their own car for occasional travel to other sites. This role has standard working hours; however, the successful IT Infrastructure Engineer will be required to be on call 1 out of every 3/4 weekends.
