IT Systems Administrator

Job description

An employer based in Basingstoke who are global leaders in their respective industry are seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator to take responsibility for the company's IT infrastructure.

This IT Systems Administrator role will also see you taking responsibility for the company's productions systems and servers as well as providing end-user support for up to 150 employees. In addition, you'll be identifying risks and issues, ensuring their services conform to PCI-DSS compliance standards and delivering projects meeting the company's standards.

The role of IT Systems Administrator;

  • Implement, maintain and improve the technical contacts that assist them in achieving and maintaining annual PCI-DSS Level 1 accreditation
  • Responsible for purchasing IT hardware and software
  • Maintaining the datacentre infrastructure
  • Providing 1st line support for both internal and external customers
  • Administer all internet domains
  • Build and configure PC's, laptops and servers for both Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Responsible for the Internal IP office telephone system
  • Documentation of all IT procedures
  • Providing 3rd line support to the Operations team during out of hours

The successful IT Systems Administrator will have;

  • Virtualisation with VMware
  • Working knowledge of entry level SANs
  • Expert use of Windows 7, 10 and Server 2008, 2012, 2016, AD/group policy and OU structures
  • Office 365 administration
  • Installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of Linux (preferably Debian/Ubuntu)
  • Cisco networking
  • Network security including Firewalls, routers and IDS
  • Understanding of WAN/LAN technologies, switching, secure protocols, security policies & procedures and VPN
  • Server and network troubleshooting
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, MS Visio and MS Outlook

The role of IT Systems Administrator is paying between £34,000 - £44,000 with excellent benefits including; bonus scheme, 25 days holiday, pension scheme, medical insurance, annual training allowance, regular social events, cycle to work scheme and childcare vouchers.
