Junior DevOps Engineer (Infrastructure Support / Cloud)

(Docker, Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Cloud, AWS)

£35,000 - £45,000 based on experience + benefits

Surrey; accessible from Basingstoke, Reading, Farnborough etc.

A great opportunity for an enthusiastic DevOps Engineer or Infrastructure Support / Cloud Engineer who is keen to move into a DevOps role. This role will join a growing technology company building innovative software products, the role would be part of a talented development team and existing DevOps function ensuring that their teams are working effectively, and their Software and Cloud products are fit for purpose and adding real value to their customers.

Working alongside the development team on joint features and promoting cross collaboration between traditionally separate departments is key to the role. The successful candidate will enable the development team to be as productive as possible and will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining Cloud/AWS solutions, contributing to the Continuous Integration, 3rd line support and, to help continuously improve the quality of the service being delivered across the IT teams.

Any formal DevOps experience and exposure to relevant tools (Docker, Ansible, Terraform, Chef, etc) is desirable but not essential, if other key skills can be demonstrated.

Essential skills
- 2-5 years' experience in a Support or Developer role

- Experience working with Cloud Technologies such as AWS
- Exposure to Redis, Memcached or other similar database tools

- Scripting with Bash, Shell or similar
- Continuous Integration understanding (Jenkins or similar)
- Automation of manual processes (using Chef or similar)
- Good Agile, SCRUM understanding
- Excellent communicator and able to learn new skills quickly
