Linux Systems Administrator/Engineer

£25,000 - £30,000
Linux Systems Administrator/Engineer required to join my client, a team of highly skilled engineering professionals who have built a software platform used by large well-known brands including John Lewis, BA and British Gas for customer improvement techniques. They have an open and collaborative culture and you will have the freedom to help shape the direction and development of their software systems. They can offer you the opportunity to grow both professionally and personally. You will join a team of over 30 members which consist of product managers, software engineers, testers, SCRUM Masters and DevOps Engineers working together to help develop and deploy their world class SaaS platform. You will have experience of working with web applications and be given the opportunity to participate in hackathons and rapid prototyping.
You will have the following experience:-
- Experience of RedHat based Linux distributions
- Ability to write simple scripts (Bash, PHP, Python etc.)
- Experience of hosting database-driven web applications
- Experience with OR Desire to learn configuration management tools - i.e. Puppet, Ansible
- Experience with containers - i.e. Docker and / OR Kubernetes
- Cloud Computing (ideally an AWS certification)
Responsibilities Include:
- Troubleshooting and resolving installation, implementation, and production issues
- Operating and managing our development, testing and production environments based across UK and North America on a mix of physical and virtual infrastructure
- Organising and documenting known solutions for internal collaboration and public consumption
- Delivering world-class support to our customers and partners by being responsive, proactive, and professional in all interactions
