Magento Developer - Fareham

Job description

Magento Developer is required to join a growing and highly progressive company from their head office based in Fareham.

The role of the Magento Developer will be to help develop and maintain the ecommerce platform which my client uses to help service their growing customer base. You will be responsible for the design, production, modification and maintenance of websites and web application user interfaces

The ideal candidate for the Magento Developer position will be working within a similar position at the moment. You will have:

  • Substantial knowledge of the Magento 2 framework, system architecture, theme hierarchy, modules, core functionality and configuration
  • Magento Developer Certification (Developer Plus is desirable)
  • Magento caching mechanism experience
  • Magento Hosting and Configuration
  • Experience building Magento 2 modules
  • Deployed 2+ Magento 2 high volume websites
  • Experience in extending Magento functionality using UI Components.
  • Experience with Docker, CI servers (Jenkins), and automated testing
  • Experience and competence with CSS pre-processors such as SASS/LESS
  • Experience with JavaScript build-tools e.g. gulp, grunt, webpack
  • Front end theme development
  • Understanding of MVC frameworks, LAMP Stack, jQuery, Version Control (GIT / SVN)
  • Ability to troubleshoot and communicate effectively with stakeholders to resolve production application issues under pressure
  • Experience in developing custom integrations for ERP, accounting, fulfilment, and marketing systems
  • Performing team code reviews and providing technical oversight on the work of other developers where required
  • Implementing and maintaining Magento development standards and best practices
  • Competent in authoring JavaScript and using libraries such as Prototype and jQuery
  • Significant experience with Magento Enterprise Edition and its indexing processes
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases, i.e. MySQL, with the ability to profile and optimise queries
  • Proficiency with Linux server administration, e.g shell scripting, Nginx and Apache configuration
  • Knowledge of optimisation, caching, and scaling techniques
  • Experience in configuring Redis, Memcached and Varnish

As you will be working within a team environment, along with liaising with customers then your communication skills, both written and verbal, must be very strong.
