Senior Field Application Support Engineer

Job description

Senior Field Application Support Engineer required by a high-tech company based in Southampton to support their customers located globally.

The Senior Field Application Support Engineer is likely to have a relevant degeree in Electronc Engineering, Computer Science or simlar subject as well as extensive technical experience in an electronic or software engineering product development focused environment.

Key responsibilities;

- Apply specialised skills and expertise to enable team to make the successful and timely delivery of projects

- Mentor junior colleagues

- Support our customer base worldwide

- Feedback customer requirements to support colleagues with continuous improvement

- Collaborate with management, engineering and sales to meet customer's needs

- Continually promote and make customers aware of new developments and or products as the road map evolves

- Promote use of company products in customer applications

- Understand system integration issues and requirements

- Manage customer accounts through a product evaluation process

- Develop and run automation scripts to generate technical specification data sheets

Essential experience;

- Extensive commercial experience in a role supporting customers with software/hardware focused products

- Relevant degree in Electronics, Computer Science or similar

- Understanding of compilation and synthesis flow for CPU/FPGA/ASIC

- Version control and peer review (e.g. Git)

- Documentation & time management - Confluence, Jira etc

Experience in any of the following areas would be advantageous but not a prerequisite;

- C/C++ programming

- Matlab

- SystemVerilog

- Software and/or hardware integration

- Communications signal processing algorithms

- Telco or semiconductor industry experience
