Job description
Software developer required by a fast-growing software company located on the Isle of Wight. Due to the continued growth of its customer base, the company needs Software developers with various levels of experience to help improve and maintain web-based programs and applications.
This role offers the chance to work with a variety of development tools and technologies as well as the opportunity to research and utilise new development software. Full cross training will be provided on technologies not used previously. This is an opportunity to learn new skills in various technical areas including cloud and big data related technologies.
The successful Software Developer is likely to have knowledge of at least one programming language and experience in one or more of the following areas
- Web technologies - CSS, HTML, JavaScript
- Relational databases
- Cloud / big data related technologies
- RESTful APIs
- Docker and/or Linux Containers
- Service Oriented Architecture
- Unit testing
- Unix network programming
- Agile and Waterfall Methodologies
- Linux / Unix working environment
