Technical Pre-Sales Consultant

My client, a leader in their field, are looking for an Technical Pre-Sales Consultant to work on their international public safety product suite. This is a rare opportunity to work with an innovative product launching in an area new to cloud services. The primary focus is to provide 'hands on' pre-sale and post-sale technical customer and sales team support in relation to the roll out of a new Cloud based application.
Once the initial sale is completed by the sales team you will be the person who engages with the customer to ensure their requirements can be tailored to fit around their current MIS systems. You will be involved with the requirements gathering, planning, project management, installation and support.
You should have the following experience:-
Pre-Sale
· Preparation of technical response to RFI, RFP
· Participation in customer meetings and demonstrations
· Management of Proof of Concept Solution Delivery , working with the Product Teams
Post-Sale
· Working with the customer technical teams to develop finalised detailed design
· Manage the conversion of the Proof of Concept into a live system
· Setup initial customer training for Go-Live
· Managing the smooth handover to the operations teams
· Contribute to the projects 'lesson learned' reviews
· Help the product teams to create and deliver technical sales training
· Preparation of Quote and Order Processing - RFQ
Knowledge & Experience
● Analysis of customer requirements into product requirements
● Writing Technical Proposals
● Designing complex systems
● Project management (installation)
● Working successfully with clients and business partners directly
● System engineering and/or IT support for 6 years or more
Should have knowledge of some of the following
● Telecommunications systems in public safety
● Telecommunications in public transportation
● The principles of information systems security
● Use of SQL database systems
● Web, cloud applications
● Network design
● Installation and maintenance of Microsoft-based operating systems and Azure
This is a great time to join this project as it is in it's early stages. The product has gone live to one customer already, with other Go-Lives planned for a few weeks' time with 5 other customers signed up. Because of the nature of the work there will be a maximum of 43 customers at the end of the process which is anticipated to take 3-4 years in total. On average they are signing up one customer each month. A lot of the work will be autonomous however you will work closely with 4-5 other people from the products / dev teams. This is a customer facing role so your communication skills need to be excellent.
In terms of technical ability you will need to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical so you need to know your stuff but you don't have to be an out and out coder (although a background in coding would be beneficial - it's a .Net Cloud product)
You must be willing to travel to customer or partner site, this will be fairly frequent - most probably weekly across the UK.
You will be required to go through a Security Clearance Process.
