Technical Support Engineer - Hardware / Firmware
Southampton, Hampshire - near Fareham, Winchester
Up to £38,000 based on experience + benefits + flexible working
A Technical Support Engineer is required to join an innovative global business based in Hampshire; the business offers a number of hardware and software products globally and this position will work at a senior level in an established team.
The core focus of the role will be technical and operational support of energy pressure management products and related pumps. The Technical Support Engineer will take a senior role in resolving customer issues on a broad range of these hardware products and deliver user training where required.

Responsibilities
- Respond to, and take ownership of, technical queries in relation to equipment usage and installation for customers globally.
- Act as the key point of contact for troubleshooting and technical issues relating to pressure management and network optimisation products.
- Identify operational problems by observing and studying system performance
- Investigating complaints from customers and discussing issues with 3rd parties
- Maintain technical documentation and use the internal ticketing system to record and report all activities.
- Carry out remote analysis and diagnosis on network performance
- Present training courses both onsite and remotely where possible.
Training and support will be provided on the companies bespoke products but the ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate experience of the following;
- Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to use own initiative
- Solid technical background with knowledge or experience of distribution networks, pressure management systems, flowmeters, pumps or similar.
- Excellent communication skills, able liaise will all areas of a business
- Strong working knowledge of IT including Microsoft Excel
- Experience within the water of gas industry is highly desirable
- Engineering Degree, or similar
