IT Infrastructure Engineer (2nd Line)

£33,000 - £34,500 per annum

We're partnered with a growing logistics client in Gosport who is investing heavily in their IT landscape and we're on the hunt for a hands-on, technically solid 2nd Line Infrastructure Engineer to be a key part of that journey.

If you're someone who enjoys getting into the detail, troubleshooting the root cause of issues, and being part of a supportive, collaborative team, this is a role worth considering.

This is a fully office-based role (no hybrid), working in a close-knit environment where the team genuinely helps each other out and celebrates wins together. What You'll Be Doing

• Acting as a key 2nd line escalation point for infrastructure and user issues
• Investigating issues down to root cause, not just applying quick fixes
• Supporting and maintaining both on-prem infrastructure and Azure cloud environments
• Managing network configurations - TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs
• Using tools like command prompt, PowerShell, and performing domain registry checks
• Supporting Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Office 365
• Working on small to mid-size projects and contributing to wider infrastructure planning
• Ensuring systems are compliant and secure

What You'll Need

• Strong experience in a 2nd line or similar support role
• Comfortable working across on-prem and Azure infrastructure
• Confident with networking (routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, VLANs)
• Knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy
• Experience with desktop environments (Windows 10/11, Office 365)
• Familiar with command line tools, scripting basics (PowerShell), and domain tools
• A proactive mindset - someone who wants to fix the root of the problem, not the symptom
• Flexible and collaborative - happy to help where needed, not stuck in silos

Nice to Have

• Azure or AWS certification
• PowerShell scripting
• Linux experience
• ITIL awareness
• Experience in logistics or warehousing environments
