Head of Data required by a well-established, technology-driven organisation who are investing heavily in their data and product capabilities. As part of this growth, they are looking to appoint a Head of Data to lead and evolve both functions, driving real business value through technology, insight and innovation.
This is a senior leadership role where you'll take ownership of the data and product strategy, shaping roadmaps, improving operational efficiency and delivering impactful software and analytics solutions across the business.
The Role
As Head of Data, you will lead multidisciplinary teams across Product, Business Analysis, Data Engineering, BI and Data Science. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders and operational teams to translate business needs into clear, deliverable outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Defining and owning the product and data strategy, aligned to business goals and KPIs
- Leading and developing high-performing Product and Data teams
- Translating operational challenges into clear product roadmaps, user stories and technical requirements
- Managing and prioritising the product backlog, ensuring effective delivery
- Establishing strong data governance frameworks (quality, ownership, security, compliance)
- Driving the evolution of data platforms and reporting, enabling actionable insight
- Communicating progress, priorities and value to senior stakeholders
- Embedding a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and data-driven decision making
About You
We're looking for an experienced leader with a strong blend of product, data and business analysis expertise.
You will have:
- Proven experience in a senior Product / Data / BA leadership role within a technology-led environment
- A track record of delivering product roadmaps and/or data strategies that drive measurable outcomes
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams (Product, BA, Data, BI)
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly
- Solid business analysis capability - requirements gathering, process mapping, specifications
- Experience with BI, analytics or modern data platforms (e.g. cloud, centralised reporting)
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira / Azure DevOps, Power BI, Excel
- A highly organised, analytical mindset with a focus on delivering value
