Job description

Junior QA Engineer - will consider Graduates

£20,000 - £30,000 DOE

A well known Cyber Security client in the heart of Basingstoke are looking for passionate Graduates or Junior testers that really want to work for a company that prides themselves on being ahead of the curve within technology.

Don't be fooled into thinking that just because this company is in Cyber Security that they are a strict, tie wearing, corporate environment! They are relaxed, LOVE new ideas to be kicked around, are always keen to listen and learn and encourage a good bit of escaping when the going gets tough. You might fancy a game of escape rooms, shoot some nerf guns or just a moment to ponder and take in the funky art work around the office...Whatever enables you to find that balance!

Your initial focus will be on Manual software testing and you will be working very closely with the development team. You will be creating test cases, debugging and fixing issues as well as learning how to do automated scripting as you progress. There is an opportunity to start in the testing team and progress through the ranks or move into development eventually.

As the company are known for being a little bit different, they are looking for a candidate that loves to tinker, break things, analyse them and put them back together and is truly fascinated with the world of testing.

Key Skills

  • Degree in Computer Science or similar OR commercial testing exposure
  • Proven passion for testing - either in your own time or within your role
  • An understanding of software development life cycle and ideally some coding knowledge in C#, Python or similar
  • SQL exposure
  • A thirst to keep learning and a good send of humour.

If you are just a bit bored of the normal, everyday jobs in the muggle world and would like to join a company that will accept your magical skills then please send your CV through to kayleighschneid@spectrumit.co.uk for a chance to join this wizarding bunch.
