About this event

Github is strangely both an incredibly powerful tool for experienced users, and a usability nightmare for beginners. This talk is aimed at beginner and intermediate git users. It explains why getting started is so difficult. And shares hints and tips to move you on.

Sarah is the founder and CEO of fflow, a saas tool for agencies to manage projects, time in work, and time out of work. Her background is as a developer, including a long stint at IBM.

Sarah believes the tech industry holds strong potential for social mobility, and encourages everyone to be excited by the career opportunities. These include both technical and, increasingly, non-technical roles. For example, AI is driving new jobs in linguistics and anthropology.

Sarah supports inclusivity, and wants the tech industry to be more welcoming for newbies. Including their experiences with git.

She likes an audience to feel that she understands their frustrations, to learn something new, and to enjoy the experience.
