Contract IT Field Engineer

Spectrum IT's national client are actively seeking experienced Contract Field Support Engineers to join them on an initial 6 month contract, the role has been deemed OUTSIDE IR35 and will be covering multiple sites across the West and Central London Area. Having access to your own car with a clean FULL UK driving license is a must!

As the Contract Field Engineer covering West & Central London you will work on your own and/or in teams to deploy technical infrastructure solutions and carry out a variety of activities such as:

  • PC & Laptop Refresh Projects
  • Client Operating System Upgrades
  • Working with 3rdparty software suppliers
  • Switch, firewall and Router installs
  • Wireless solution deployments
  • Successfully manage relationships with end users and customers in line with the customer focused ethos of our business.



Skills & Experience

  • Imaging and deployment of technologies for Windows 10/11
  • Installing and configuring Microsoft 365 Applications
  • Network installations, and comms cabinet patching
  • Knowledge or exposure in managing:
  • Windows Server 2008 - 2019
    • Active Directory management
    • IP address management though DNS & DHCP
    • Group Policy Management
  • Virtualisation technology, Hyper-V, or VMware



Visiting one or multiple sites per week and working closely with end clients/businesses, strong communication and time management skills will be key. You will be able to communicate verbally and in writing to both technical and non-technical audiences while managing your workload and priorities.

For this role you will need your own vehicle as you will be expected to travel daily as the Contract IT Field Engineer. The role is subject to a standard DBS check. (Parking expenses paid, Congestion and mileage paid over the first 60 miles per day.)
