UX Designer

Up to £55,000 - (DOE)

Hybrid Working

Basingstoke HQ

The UX Designer role will take customer and user driven ideas and research and turn them into a compelling and meaningful user experience that helps people better connect and work with our software platforms across fixed and mobile applications. You must be mission-driven, creative, and moving fast to succeed at your job in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • A portfolio that demonstrates strong experience in creating concepts and detailing customer journey, ideally specifying interactions for hardware and software services for enterprise products.
  • Extensive experience in working with engineers and leading complex discussions in UX design.
  • Ability to use design methods to generate ideas and galvanize point-of-view with stakeholders, demonstration of UX and visual design sensibilities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organisation.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem solver: comfortable in addressing unknowns in user experience, product experience, and market best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design end-to-end user experiences and interactions that are intuitive, efficient, and productive.
  • Define, craft, and evolve experience designs within visual systems.
  • Brainstorm and rapidly prototype concepts, specify designs according to use cases and iterate designs based on feedback, research, and learning.
  • Cultivate a healthy design process for the team as it grows that includes software, but also hardware and industrial design experience.
  • Regularly conduct research to understand user patterns, needs and required design changes.
  • Participate in software design sprints to ensure all details of interaction design are delivered to experience specifications that you create.
  • Contribute to product management and engineering work streams to instil best practices in user interaction and experience design throughout a customer's journey.
  • Contribute to strategic decisions around product definitions and road maps.
  • Be an advocate of customers throughout design and development of products.
  • Stays informed and keep UX knowledge relevant to market trends, research and applicable insights.
  • To ensure full participation in the performance development review (PDR) process and maintain an up-to-date record of all training and development activities/programs.
