Application Support Engineer

Chichester - West Sussex

£40,000 - £45,000 + remote working options + benefits

Application Support Engineer is required by an industry leading and growing company based in Chichester, West Sussex. My client is looking to hire an Application Support Engineer who will support bespoke business applications and provide IT application support to end users across multiple clients. Due to the continuous growing business pipeline my client is looking for an Application Support Engineer to work closely with external customers as well as internal stakeholders to develop, deliver and maintain cutting edge business applications. You will play a pivotal role in development operations liaising with software developers to troubleshoot and debug software issues for existing complex financial applications as well as working on projects to deliver greenfield solutions to new clients. The successful Application Support Engineer will have experience in the following areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist knowledge of applications and software to the company's bespoke software applications.
  • Liaising with software developers and product teams on BAU issues as well as projects being delivered.
  • Work closely with the business and clients to design and build solutions to agreed specification and timescales.
  • Maintain existing applications to facilitate ongoing support to clients and the business.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to keep them up to date with application developments.
  • Onboarding new customers as well as supporting existing applications.

Key Requirements:

  • 2nd/3rd Line bespoke application support experience
  • Troubleshooting and debugging bespoke software applications
  • SQL Server
  • SQL and T-SQL
  • Ability to read and interpret .Net applications - desirable but not essential.
  • Financial or insurance application support experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
