An Eastleigh based Insurance provider are looking for a DevOps Release Engineer with excellent experience in Microsoft Azure, SQL and PowerShell.
The role sits within the Service Operations Centre and will act as the technical escalation point for all release technicians. You will be responsible for the automation of release and environment configuration utilising principles as such as 'Infrastructure as Code', DevOps, Automated Scripting, ITIL and Release Pipelines. You will also build and configure new environments which will include VM Setup, Azure DevOps Pipeline deployment and configuration and software installation and initial troubleshooting.
The role is also responsible for the set up and maintenance of internal operations, application development and testing servers which include restoring and configuring of SQL servers for both development and test environments and the development, documentation and maintenance of internal procedures for the release and automation of release pipelines. You will also have the ability to gain the cooperation of other people within the organisation regardless of department including: Support, Project Management, Developers, Technology Teams.
Key Experience Required:
- Building release pipelines for software development and SAAS Solutions
- Experience with release automation and Azure DevOps
- Experience of Infrastructure as code using scripting languages such as PowerShell, Yamal etc.
- VM Setup
- Restoring and configuring SQL Server (Development and Test environments)
- Experience of Scripting languages, with a specific emphasis on SQL and PowerShell
- Strong experience of the Microsoft Azure environment
- Knowledge of automation tools like Composer and Azure Automation
- ITIL certified (ideally)
