An established and successful real time software service provider is looking for an Infrastructure Manager to join them as they move into a new phase of their evolution.
The Infrastructure Manager will be required to manage a small team of technicians, engineers and support staff.
This is a hands-on management position and will also suit someone with team leadership or mentoring experience who are ready to move into a management role.
The responsibilities of the Infrastructure Manager will involve:
- Hands on Technical involvement.
- Team Management (appraisals, reviews and rota scheduling).
- Systems Management & reporting.
- Attending senior management meetings.
- Management of the company software releases
- Implementing projects and plans to address issues raised from management meetings.
- Maximisation of the department budget.
- Definition of the department KPI's.
- Hands on technical expertise.
The successful Infrastructure Manager will have the following skills and experience:
- Strong hands on IT Infrastructure experience.
- Experience with Redhat, Linux or Unix servers and general open source technologies.
- Knowledge of Windows Servers.
- Knowledge of Oracle and Windows SQL databases.
- VMware knowledge.
- Experience of managing, team leading or mentoring an IT Infrastructure team.
- An understanding of Kubernetes and Docker - advantageous.
- Experience of managing 3rd party suppliers.
