IT Infrastructure Engineer - Azure, Hyper-V, SQL, - Up to £65,000

We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Infrastructure engineer to join a team based in Ruislip, Middlesex. The company are a dedicated specialist Civil Engineering company that work alongside some major companies such as Siemens and Belfour Beatty. The role will focus on core support of the infrastructure within the company to always allow a business-as-usual environment.

Experience required

Knowledge of and experience using:

  • Working in mixed on-premises/cloud environments
  • Enterprise Level Information Technology Infrastructures
  • Advanced knowledge Microsoft Windows Server 2012 - 2019
  • Advance knowledge of Microsoft Exchange on prem and Exchange online
  • SharePoint on prem and SharePoint online
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL
  • Administering physical/virtual servers, including Active Directory Domain Controllers (DNS, DHCP)
  • Operational experience of Microsoft Azure, management, administration, and operational support of cloud infrastructure
  • Office 365 suite - M/s Exchange, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Intune
  • Experience supporting virtual infrastructures - Hyper-V

Other requirements - Full Drivers License

Day - to - Day Duties

  • IT infrastructure and System Design including designing, implementing, testing, administering, and supporting infrastructure technologies, solutions and services, particularly cloud based, including Hyper-V, IIS, Exchange Hybrid, PKI, VPN, RADIUS, SQL, and Active Directory Domain Services. This is a MUST.
  • Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, networking, routing and switching concepts
  • Azure technologies - we are looking for some one with proven track record of deploying and supporting Azure technologies. This is a MUST.
  • Work with and support third parties in providing infrastructure services.
  • Work with the IT Security and Compliance manager to create architectural designs and implement into operations. This is a MUST.
  • Work with Service Desk to ensure timely resolution of tickets associated with these services and provide guidance and support.
  • Initiate and monitor actions to investigate patterns and trends to resolve problems, including escalations, consulting specialists where required and assisting with
  • Serve as a technical expert within area of assignment, providing guidance and direction to other professional staff and resolving complex problems; participates in developing strategic plans for systems/applications development and modification within area of expertise.
  • Analyses and evaluates computer network design, operating systems and/or business requirements; consults with personnel from various departments and identifies areas for strategic network, database, and/or operating system improvements and upgrades; or the development of technical solutions to automate and/or improve business processes.
  • Trains and provides technical guidance to professional and technical staff assigned to operating systems, network infrastructure, business systems analysis and application development, database administration, and/or telecommunications systems.
  • Coordinates the activities during major and minor network problems; provides problem status, oral and written, to management; focuses on preventing and resolving network and system problems related to area of assignment.
  • Serve as the administrator for the on-prem and cloud-based Wintel environment.
  • Oversees and provide guidance and expertise in the design, building, installation, configuration, maintenance and administration of complex network infrastructures, or server platforms and operating system components
